St John Chancellors Commendation Award

On the 7th December, the Motutapu Outdoor Education Trust were acknowledged by the Order of St John and awarded a Chancellor's Commendation. The award acknowledged the actions of the organisation in response to the illness and subsequent passing of a young St John cadet. Duncan Watson and Gavin Bensemann accepted the award on behalf of the organisation as both parties played significant roles during the incident. Presenting the award and in attendance was Lorene Cassidy (Group Leader St John Youth Camp), Peter Robinson (Order Matters Manager), Dame Christine Benson and Knight Richard Blundell. Tribute was paid to the young cadet who lost his life. He was remembered for his exceptional character and integrity. We will forever remember that cadet and the series of events that took place. Having a 30 year long strong relationship with St John, we fully acknowledge the outstanding work that they do and the contributions they make to all of our communities.
