Norgay the Jilted Takahe

Having her “Married At First Sight” husband (Kahukura) taken over by the girl next door was a blow to young Norgay who should have been enjoying the most romantic years of her life.  But it only got worse!!!  For a while, she started to think that Buscot was “The One” but he only wanted to” just be friends”. Norgay knew that’s no way to save the species so it was time to look for a more serious takahe.

After a whirlwind romance, she moved in with Bon and Hemi but it turned out to be a summer fling!  How was she to know?!  Manaaki flaunted her feathers (and her charms) and the boys were gone.  Norgay had dealt with the pain of losing her Married at First Sight husband, but now she wasn’t just dumped….she was double dumped!!!  That required twice of much comfort eating!!!!

The pain kept on coming though…she discovered she was living next to the Honeymoon Hotel for arranged marriages..  All those happy couples flirting and getting to know each other while she was on the outside looking in.  It was torture, but she couldn’t help herself spying on them, trying to figure out where she had gone wrong in the game of love.

Then one day she notice a wonderful takahe in the pen…he was everything she was looking for...  handsome, charming, and SINGLE.  Most important of all, he was in a pen so he couldn’t leave her for another.  She could visit Brodie when she was at her best, which was most of the time.  They spent time flirting and talking through the wire;  she felt like she had learned so much from watching the other happy couples and was putting that new knowledge to good use. Trouble is, as time went by she started to wonder if they would always be talking through the wire.  Were they doomed to be “just friends”?  Should she try her luck elsewhere? Should she wait for her true love and hope one day they will be united?
