Experiencing the Challenge

We offer a large range of both instructor led and self-supervised activities and can assist you to design a programme that best suits your needs. The following table indicates the range of activities that we have on offer and depicts whether they are instructor led or self directed activities.

Please be aware that our policies state that all activities require secure footwear that has covered toes (Croc's and open toed sandals do not count!). We also insist that all participants in water activities wear a pair of shorts or similar over the wetsuits provided to minimise wear and tear on our gear.

The Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp is a registered Adventure Activities Operator and is safety certified by the Skills Active OutdoorsMark Programme in accordance with the Health and Safety in Employment (Adventure Activities Regulations 2011).

What this means is you can be rest assured that we here at MOEC are commited to Health and Safety and that our Safety Management System (SMS) is robust and checked through via internal and external reviews and audits.

Please feel free to ask us for copies of the certificates and/or more information on policy and procedures within our SMS.

Due to the nature of the activities and equipment offered at the Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp, risks are involved. All guests and visitors to MOEC will be inducted into the Safety Management System (SMS) upon arrival at a level appropriate to the purpose of their visit. This is to ensure all practical measures have been taken to manage these risks and give opportunity for everyone to discuss concerns and ask questions.

All guests and visitors of MOEC are expected to adhere to these policies and procedures however incidents may still occur. MOEC will review all incidents as determined by the level of actual and potential outcome as outlined in our SMS and outlined by WorkSafe NZ.
